Device Setup (Hexnode)

To Setup iPad

1.      Use Apple Configurator to register device in Apple Business Manager.

2.      Set MDM for device to HexNode.

3.      In HexNode, Admin->Apple Business/School Manager->Apple DEP->Sync with DEP

4.DEP. Device will restart. Click through to setup->Setup without another device. Join WiFi. Device will retrieve configuration.configuration

4.      Settings->General->Transfer or Reset iPad->Erase All Content and Settings

5.      Continue->Keep eSIM and Erase Data

6.      Device will erase, then reboot.

7.      English->United States

8.      Set Up Manually

9.      Connect to Wi-Fi

10.  Should see screen saying retrieving configuration. Then a screen showing “Remote Management”. Click on Next.

11.  Accept Enrollment agreement, click on “Enroll”.

12.  Once HexNode MDM is installed, open it and allow all permissions, then click on “Agree & Continue”. Close app. (Note: Apps should install without this step, but this is needed for location and other push commands).

 

To Add App to Policy:

1.      From ABM, select Apps and Books.

2.      Search for and get appropriate number of licenses for app.

3.      Admin->Apple Business/School Manager->Apple VPP->Sync

4.      In HexNode go to Apps and add to group(s).

5.      Go to Policies and select policy.

6.      Kiosk Lockdown->Multi App->Add app.

7.      Home Screen Layout->Add to appropriate page

8.      Add app to Whitelist.

9.      SAVE
